Withdrawing from course post-MD acceptance?

If they don’t require it, you can just drop it. If they ask, say you realized you did not need the course anymore and you chose to use the time to pursue something else. One W is not going to change anything. I don’t think you list your future spring semester courses on AMCAS if I remember right, so they probably didn’t know you were planning on taking it.

hey y’all! just seeking some advice. I’ve been accepted into three awesome MD schools (including my top choice), none of which “require” physics 2. im currently enrolled in physics 2 now (the only class i’m taking), but i’m having a super hard time balancing it with working full time and helping to support at home. i wanted to drop the course, but i missed the deadline to drop w/o a “W” by a few weeks. Do y’all think the med schools I was accepted into will look down on me for having this “W”, or worse take back my acceptance, even though it’s on a course they don’t “require”? or should i just try to finish the course off as best as i can? anyone ever gone through a situation like this? it just feels like since these schools don’t require it why would i take it….

ty for any input! i appreciate y’all
you can drop it. No one will care.

just make absolutely sure you don't need it before dropping

ty y’all for all your input! i’ll call the schools tomorrow and make sure i don’t need it, explain my situation, then probably drop the course. cheers x

Also be sure that you wouldn’t prefer to go to another school under any circumstances. Say somehow you get into a school (requiring physics 2) that offers a full ride
