Withdrawing from Spring Term

I am planning on withdrawing from this semester because I have been accepted to Wingate Univ for Fall 09. I have completed pre-pharmacy coursework and I was taking courses that would apply for my BS degree, which would have been completed Dec 08. So my question is, if I drop this semester, would it affect me negatively in any way? I have already called and asked Wingate, they don't mind if I drop my classes. But, will it prevent me from being accepted to other pharmacy schools? Thanks for your feedback!

If that's the only school where you want to go to, then go ahead and drop. Otherwise, you should call the other schools you're applying to and see--especially if you're taking prereqs for those other schools.

If you are only a semester away, why not finish the degree somehow later or during the summer? I think 3-3.5 years of hard work is worth recieving a paper for!😀

I have been thinking, will a BS degree matter in the long run? For example, if two Pharm D's apply for one job position, will the one with a BS get accepted over the one with just a Pharm D?

It honestly wont matter too much. The dean for UCSF School of Pharmacy just has her Pharm.D., and didn't get her BS either. 🙂

Its tempting but dont...just dont work extra hard this semester for that 4.0 but complete your degree🙂.

I can all but guarantee you'll regret dropping out. If something changes and you end up needing that degree, it is considerably harder to go back later to finish. You are so close, it seems silly to just throw it all away. Plus you never know what friends you might make in those classes, or what knowledge you might gain that could be useful someday. Don't be a quitter!
