I am more than likely going to withdraw from LECOM interview, so do I call or email them? How long before my date (Dec 10) should I let them know. Only reason I am waiting still is I want to cancel after I pay my deposit at KCOM, just to be sure 😀

Hi Desi - long time no talk

If you are going to decline interview, now is the time to do it. Don't wait any longer if you are sure you don't want to go there. I emailed a polite, concise note and they responded gratefully.

Congrats on KCOM!

With many of my interviews I was able to call them and cancel, but a few of the schools wanted an e-mail from me confirming my decision to be withdrawn from the application cycle. But you should cancel as soon as you know that you are going somewhere else. You never know when you might want to rotate through one of their hospitals and they see that you applied but only gave them a week to fill your interview spot. Just do it as soon as possible. See you next year at KCOM

Call. LECOM is bad at replying emails-- (based on my experience). It's best to do it ASAP so they can reschedule someone else. It's just common courtesy.

After being directed around a phone tree at Nova, I decided to e-mail all of my cancellations after that, and every one of them responded within a few hours or the next business day. And all were very nice.

I also did it as soon as I knew I wasn't going to attend.

You make a good point about the rotations. I am just paranoid for some reason that I will get un-accepted at KCOM or something will go wrong with my background check (although I have no criminal history). 😕

I know exactly how your feeling!

Same here. That's why I want to make sure they have my deposit and admission agreement in hand before I officially let other schools know.
