I'm just wondering about the pros/cons of withdrawing from schools this late in the cycle? Specifically from schools I know I wouldn't go to? Is it considered better to withdraw or to just wait it out (anticipating rejections from those schools anyway, and most likely wouldn't attend an interview there if I was offered one).

Better in what way? If you have to reapply?

Better for your mental health to reject them first! --

And if you know you wouldn't want to go there, but don't already have an acceptance in hand, a very prudent move. Re-appying after turning down an acceptance is a BIG problem.

Yeah, I'm confused. Do you hold an acceptance? If you do, withdraw. If you don't want to go to those schools, don't. If not, I wouldn't withdraw but that's just me. These cycles are brutal. Also, one of the common bits of wisdom on SDN is don't apply to schools you wouldn't want to go to. Just saying.

I should clarify, I have already gotten in, so this is more about schools that I just haven't heard back from at all, but I'm assuming I'll get rejected at those schools.
