Today I started craving lump crabmeat and a bottomless glass of red wine. Then, it dawned on me that I was going into post-interview season fancy candidates' dinner withdrawl. Anyone else experience this yet? I am soooo going to miss going to uber classy restaurants and being able to order whatever I want, without a care in the world and without ever seeing a bill. Damnit!

Take heart...in about 4.5 years, when you're an attending raking in the "big bucks", you won't have to worry about the bill for your fancy dinner!

In the meantime, when you get to your residency, just volunteer to go to every residency interview dinner you can 😀

Disclaimer: this assumes that attending salaries don't drop to a level lower than what Joe Sixpack makes today...

I don't miss any of it! I am glad to be able to eat my own food, sleep in my own bed, and be able to go to the gym. I gotta go sweat off the pounds I put on November-January from these interview meals!

now THAT I understand. I have been working out soooooooooo much lately. I have so many "extra" pounds to shed, most of which I picked up during interview season. must get in shape before my 3 vacations.

still miss the fancy food and endless wine.
