Hey guys,
I was just wondering how bad a withdrawal over summer school looks? I am getting a B- in a class and I dont want it to bring down my gpa but it is my only class so I would have to withdrawal from summer school.

a "W" looks worse than a B-.

really? i don't think adcoms are gonna spend that much time going over every detail of your transcript. imo, taking the b- would be worse, because it'll show up on your gpa.

op, if your gpa can handle a 2.7 then just finish the class and get it done. if your gpa would be severely hurt, maybe take it P/NP or withdrawal.

You really only want 1 W max on your transcript. Make it count.

what class is it? i got a B- in physics I (5 credit hour class). just took the hit and went on. still managed a 3.55 sgpa, so if you have a decent gpa, stick with it so you can get it over with.

sorry to jump in, but do they ask about Ws? i have one from last summer when i was taking orgo at a school 45 minutes from my house, and 2 weeks in someone hit me and my car was totaled, which meant i could no longer attend classes.

People on this forum with W's have been interviewed/accepted many times. Don't worry!

Most normal college students have a W or 2 on their transcripts. Just make sure you can explain it to adcoms in the event they do ask you.

I maxed out my withdraws on my transcript. I have 6 of them... they are all pretty much distributed throughout my undergrad. If you can explain it with a good explanation, then it's perfectly fine 🙂

I had two "W"s but I had high GPA and DAT score of 20 and I still got in
