So the criteria of termination are not clear from the above threads. However based on market realignments last year some MHWDs got railroaded so I imagine the criteria are nebulous and this is mainly a tool to get rid of "whoever we don't like," i.e., whoever makes too much, whoever is a problem. I would not be surprised if "declining reimbursement" is a cited factor

As a heartless sociopath I do like the part about tech layoffs.

Would anyone take a stocker position while looking for work elsewhere? LOL

Not worried about it in the short or the long term. Being laid off right now wouldn't be the worst thing in the world and it would most likely push me out of pharmacy altogether. Going forward healthcare is not where I would want to be with all the corporate consolidation and the likelihood of single payer being implemented within the next 15-20 years.

Walmart ironically did this in my area in 2002 (right before the bottom fell out of the pharmacist census), they really had a hard time hiring from classes up to 2006-2007. It comes down to who the Supervisor doesn't like (for numbers, for personality, etc.). It sucks, at some point, it has nothing to do with how good you are, it's just by the numbers.

I heard that WM was cutting hours too? Haven't seen proof yet, though.

WM has been cutting store hrs. Examples: slow SC close at 8 PM, NHM open only 10-6 on Sat instead of 9-7. Really sleepy SC (lack of urgent care, ED rx) have even more limited hours

WM has also been cutting tech hrs too

I worked at Kmart pharmacy. One day I came in to work and was told to report to the store manager. He handed me my last paycheck in cash. The store was closing and I didn't get anything like a notice or 60 days pay. Walmart pharmacists are spoiled.

Its been so long but I was a per diem like 10 years ago.
