my dat is 2mrw..and i was wondering if the level of difficulty of word problems on actual DAT is relatively easy/difficulty compared to kaplan subject tests...?
or are the questions easier and more straightforward on actual exam but juss little time..?

there are many word problems on those subject tests which i dont get right half of my time.. and i want to learn them all today but seems like i have no time for QR now (also since it the least important section i heard)

anyone who have taken DAT and did kaplan math q's..plz give me an advice!
thanx guys!

I did not take a kaplan class but I can tell you little bit about qr section.
First do not underestimate QR section. Let's create a scenerio: u have a
qr=15 with aa 19. If u have qr=21, u will have aa 20. Simply if u are on the borderline for one school, qr section can save u. Furthermore some schools have cutoff scores. Making high on this section (at least 17) also save u from this kind of problem. On the other hand, I agree with other SDNers who said that RC is the most important section.

In my opinion QR is not the hardest section. However time management is the key. Definitely look at all the problems (do not spend 4-5 minutes on a single problem). If u have no idea with the question just guess and do not look at it. In QR section you will not only find math problems, you will also see some statistic problems(maybe an optic(physics) problem; I got 1 related to geometry). Everyone complains about word problems, but I think that once u understand them those are not hard(only time consuming).Try to do easiest question(I know that it is very broad statement but it is true). Leave the last minute for urself for making a guess if it is necessary. If you are good at geometry maybe u can begin to solve figures (that's what I did). I personally finish this section in approximately 28 minutes and say end the test because I was very tired and bored after that challenging RC section. Reluctantly u will do well on this section 🙂. If you want to make last minute study, study trig and memorize key identities such as
sin2x= 2(sin(x))(cos(x))
sin^2 x+ cos^2 x= 1
and solve trig problems, since many bio majors have almost never use trig in their career(u can make a slight difference).
Good luck!

thanks for the tips UCfan! my test is coming up and im most worried about this section...

I would say make sure you bring a snack...I was running on empty and as you know this is the last section... My brain was hurting.
