this is TBR FL#2, BS#130. The problem with this question is that it is asking for the GROWTH of bacterial culture, not the full life cycle or what happens after the growth phase. According to the passage, the growth phase is best represented by answer choice D. I understand what BR is trying to say about growth of bacterial colonies followed by die-off, but that is in my opinion outside the scope of the question and the passage.

I remember having a similar feeling, but can't find it because my TBR CBT 2 #130 is the following discrete:

130. What are the sugars that constitute lactose?

A. D-glucopyranose and D-galactopyranose connected by an α-1,4-linkage
B. Two D-glucopyranose molecules connected by an α-1,4-linkage
C. D-glucopyranose and D-galactopyranose connected by a β -1,4-linkage
D. Two D-glucopyranose molecules connected by a β-1,4-linkage

...and if I remember correctly the question you're asking is from another passage.

I know which one.

I think I made the same mistake you did, picking the sigmoidal curve that plateaus at the top and not the one that slouches off after the plateau.

Yet another question on these tests that makes me throw **** around my room 😡

LOL Atixx. For what it's worth, I love the BR materials but I have found their FL's and chapter questions to be overall much harder than the AAMC FL's, which are supposed to be more accurate to the actual MCAT. It's not a complaint - the difficulty level of the BR stuff is great because it's always better to practice with harder conditions & questions than the actual test. I found on AAMC 7-10 (avg of 33, high of 36 low of 29) that I had much more time on all sections, and that passages were generally easier for physical & biol sciences. I found BR CBT verbal to be very accurate to AAMC 7-10 (BR CBT1 is too easy).

Absolutely.. TBR has been the best thing to ever happen to me.

This isn't my first MCAT go around, but first time with TBR. I scored a 27 on my last MCAT with a high on AAMC practices of only 31.

Exhausted my TBR tests so I took an AAMC today. I about popped wood when I saw a 37.
