In your AMCAS, when describing your wotk/activities are you just supposed to STATE what you did, or pewrsonalize it and say "This shadowing experience showed me the importance of..." or "this volunteer actyivity made me realize...." I did not do it..instead i mentioned the significance of those activities in my personal statement

Also, do you HAVE to have 15 activ..i have 14..

Yes, if you don't have 15 activities its an automatic rejection. AMCAS just puts a big red stamp on the primary they send out that reads "Did not do enough ECs" and all the med schools throw it away.

👍 alwaysangel!

I just stated, almost resume-style (and in parts, completely stolen from my resume). Short, sweet, and to the point, and no waxing poetic about what the experience meant to me.

I don't remember how many I had, but it wasn't 15. General vibe I've gotten is that adcoms don't want to wade through mini essays, and they can tell when you're bs-ing it, or adding activities to pad your application.

👍

I am fairly certain you should not reflect on the experience, and simply just give the facts. I have not yet filled that section out yet though.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I was just searching for some answers on how to fill out the activities section of the application.

Is it really true that your application is automatically rejected if you don't have 15 activities listed?

🙂 No, your application is not automatically rejected if you don't have 15 activities listed. alwaysaangel was just kidding.
