:arghh:Hi
Is it possible to use one activity for different sections?
For example: I've been a TA, can I use this for the Teaching, Employment, and Leadership sections?
I don't know how this looks to adcoms. But I would technically be using the same hours and same activity a couple of times. Is this fine, or rises suspicion??

Only if applying through TMDSAS (Texas public schools) in previous years--Note this has changed considerably for the 2020 season. For guidelines, see *~*~*~*Official TMDSAS Questions Thread 2019-2020*~*~*~* Otherwise, definitely not, unless you don't double count the hours. Then you can break one activity down into multiple components in AMCAS.

You could make separate listings and split the hours accordingly, BUT, then this activity would take up two spaces, leaving less room for other activities.

You can and should do this if it is a significant activity.

For instance I see this a lot with military applicants where they have just one block labeled “military service”. I have mine broken down in to clinical, non-clinical, leadership, clinical volunteering and non-clinical volunteering all from what could just be one activity.

Or, with a regular job, you can split up your regular job from a leadership role (such as management).

With OPs specific example, if you have an in-class teaching section, an out of class tutoring section then those can be split up in to two activities.

Nice, thanks guys for the help!

Cat, that's very helpful!! Do you mind explaining why tmdsas allows this?

As a TA I have class an office hours, do the office hours count as tutoring? Because that's all I do during that time.
