Hello, i am junior and going to apply to medical school this summer. I only have 100 hours of volunteering hours. I am a immegrant and worked in different places since i came to america, in high school and college i workred in mcdonalds, cvs and restaurants that pay u with cash.
My question is if it is bad to have little volunteering hours and alot of work hours. And how will i include my work hours inrestaurants that paid with cash and hard to prove that i worked there? Will they check where i worked and how long?

1) Med schools want to see evidence of your altruism, but they do take into account the entire load you take on through academics, volunteering, work, research, etc. If you feel your volunteer hours are too sparse, you might consider delaying your application for a year.

2) You will be asked to provide a contact person at each workplace who can attest to your employment dates and hours. The purpose is not to ask for a reference and not to ask how you were paid.
