Is the work history portion of the application relevant? Do internships count as employment? Some of my previous work history has nothing to do with physical therapy should i still put it in??
Work history can help communicate your development. Relevant to PT or not, it can show how you've spent your time, skills you've developed and experience you've had and it may interest a particular admissions committee member. I supported myself through undergrad working at UPS-- a pretty labor intense job. It communicated that I knew what hard work was and, since PT school is a lot of hard work, well, that experience was helpful in showing I could do that.
A professor who was in the admission committee at NSU for their DO program told me that having work experience while you are getting your undergraduate degree looks good on your application. I have put all my work experience, volunteer hours after high school, and internship experience. These only strengthen your application, might it be very small but it might make a different in one of the schools you are applying to.
Hey all-
I worked throughout my undergrad at various jobs (some were short term-1 month and some were a bit longer). Should I include these on my PTCAS app?
