So I'm pretty much done with my chem section. Just reviewing using practice problems. Im using the 1001 MCAT exam crackers book. In the thermodynamics sections they have an entire section devoted to work. Is work even on the DAT? I dont remember it in any of my review books, and this book is throwing a crazy amount of equations at me.

Thanks

When you say work what are you referring to I havent even seen that mentioned anywhere???

yea, i thought that to be rather odd, but i once i got through a good bit of the book, it seems that they put alot of physics concepts in with the genchem. i just worked it out anyway...couldn't hurt...

Well from what I understand physics (and consequently work) is on the MCAT and since he's studying from an MCAT book, it would make sense for that to be in there.

Yes you will these type of question on the DAT. It woould follow the equation of w=-P∆T

Example
A gas is compressed from 30 liters to 10 liter at a constant pressure of 4.0 atm. If 10KJ of energy is released as heat, find the work for this process.

w= -4(10-30)
w=-4(-20)
w= 80KJ
