Had someone approach me about a job opportunity with Concentra doing workers comp. Would be a side-gig of as little as a half day a month or more if I would like it, for some supplemental fun money. Contract would be that I keep 50% collections and bring my own malpractice, they supply staff and space and patients.

Anyone have any experience with this or something similar and care to opine? I am PM&R sports trained, do some workers comp care now but probably only 1 or two patients a week are workers comp.

Are they going to be providing you with office space/staff/support? Unsure what state you are in but the amount of red tape, authorizations, etc can be very different. I worked for them in the past in California and Texas and was very different. This was a few years ago but they were good about filling up schedule and at time did not have many physiatrists so there was a lot of business. They had multiple clinics and would want me at different ones on different days of the week.

Yes my understanding is that they would provide me with space/staff/support. In my experience in my own clinic there are often loose ends with paperwork that seem challenging to take care of if im just filling in a half day a month... Yet that seems to be what they are recruiting.

starting with simple #'s- how much $? per case? per hour? how does that align with your current pay?
then costs - malpractice? travel/location? staffing/overhead similar to what you are used to -> time = $
Not gonna poo poo this, but do math first before asking randos online...
