Working during residency

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Would it be a negative question to ask a faculty member during an interview?

Yup. Programs want students that are committed to the program 100% and not going to risks that could cause them to perform poorly. They can't prevent you from moonlighting, but if you are failing and they find out you work weekends, it won't look good.

why would you ever do that?
such question is a major risk to not getting accepted there.

Ask about it after you are accepted/matched. I would not base your ranking on a pediatric program on whether you can moonlight.

I didn't do that because I felt it was a bad idea, but was unsure. I was accepted to a program. I asked on here in hopes that someone else may have the same question and now they would know it's a bad idea to bring up at an interview. Just wanted honest feedback
