I'm working at a school full-time (8 AM to 4 PM). I want to take a 5-credit Biochemistry course next semester. There's no lab, but it meets three times a week for 1.5 hours! I've never taken a 5 credit class so I don't really know how much more work it is. How doable?

(Perhaps needless to say, it's quite important that I keep up my science GPA, and get an A in the class.)

Edit: this is the only Biochem class offered.

Only one class while working full time? Shouldn't be a problem.

I agree that for the average student, combining a full time work schedule with 5 units of classes should be easily doable. Granted you don't have too many other responsibilities.

I find my fulltime job pretty draining. Mainly because it's so tedious. And I'm somewhat intimidated by Biochem.

No other significant responsibilities except waiting for interview invites... 🙁

As long as you're not tired when you go to lecture(hopefully it's not right after work?) then I still don't see a problem. There are plenty of hours in the day to get in study time, and even a nap 🙂

should be fine. I know people doing postbacc programs at my school who work full-time and take 2-3 classes a semester

Shouldn't be too hard. I worked 50-60hour weeks and aced a 5cr Anatomy lecture/lab class. It might be tough, but I'm sure you can do it!

You can study some biohchem during the winter break, if you think biochem might be a little hard.

The syllabus and reading list is probably already uploaded.
