Does anyone have thoughts on how many people tend to work in the field while they're in their MPH program vs how many work jobs unrelated? Is the hands on experience during school that vital or is it ok to take/continue another job that is unrelated
My opinion is that any employment in a related field that will get you experience is the most important thing you can do. An internship, fellowship, whatever it may be. That experience is what really is the first building blocks of your future career and will help immensely. Unless your unrelated job gives you certain skills or experience that are marketable in a way that can be applied to your future career.
