Hello there

I have finished my first professional year at LIU and received my intern permit from NY. I'm also working part time at CVS as a pharmacy intern (11 hours/week).

Rite Aid has just open a new store in my town and I went to visit their pharmacy and asked for an job pplication and the pharmacist said that the district manager is away and to call him back next week...

When I talk to the district manager next week, she is probably going to ask me if I have any experience and where I'm currently working... Will my current job at CVS have any impact on whether or not they will offer me a position there?

Thanks in advanced for you advice!

yes...it could help you since you have experience. However, you can not work at two different retail outlets at the same time unless you kept it real low profile. Its grounds for termination at both stores.

If you are interested in having two different jobs, why not try to get into a hospital pharmacy while working retail? That way you would be able to experience two different environments and see what you like the most.

I have applied to 2 hospitals and haven't heard anything. I will consider volunteering for them if I don't get any call.

I wanted to work full time this summer in a pharmacy to get experience and become familiar with the drugs which I think will be helpful for school. I just have a month of retail pharmacy experience. I used to work in a quality control lab 4 years before I decided to go for pharmacy school.

Thanks again for your advice!
