Does anyone know of someone who after fellowship went to work overseas but eventually returned to the US? How would you be viewed when looking for jobs in the US, although you had signout experience, but in a different country? Will this be viewed favorably, or unfavorably?

It probably depends on the fellowship! If you were working with someone who is well-known in the US it would probably be an advantage. I'm also curious if anyone has any experience with this -- how do you find such fellowships?

Probably depends on the country and the hiring group's inherent biases. But if you were signing out using terminology common in the U.S., and were trained in the U.S., I suspect it would be a plus. There's just an element of "unknown" in the mix. At the moment, can't think of anyone I know who did this.
