Would it be possible to juggle a part time job while in dental school? Or would you really be stuck having to take out loans for living costs too. Basically it would be ideal to have to take out loans for only tuition.

You probably won't save enough money to matter much. You would be better off getting good grades, learning as much dentistry as you can, and building relationships so you can find a good associateship, get into the right residency, or make a good practice acquisition. In the end, the difference in pay from dental opportunity to another can more than make up for any money you might make at a part-time job.

Depends on the school, some schools there’s no way you are working a part time job. Others possibly. It’s something to ask during interviews.

I’d say it’s not worth it. My dental school was 8-5, Monday-Friday and my weekends were usually quite busy with studying.

How much would you make working a few hours a week anyway? Likely not enough to put a significant dent in your debt. Then when you graduate you’d be earning 10x more anyway.

If you qualify for work study that can be a great way to make some extra bank while in school.
