Just curious how many weekends everyone here works. Obviously it depends on the size of the pharmacy but what kind of rotation do you have going on? Every other, every third, etc?

We have an unusual arrangement at my workplace. Our weekly schedule stays the same for six months, but then every six months we have to bid on a new schedule, and we go in order of our performance rank. Half of the schedules do not work on weekends (and I currently have one), 40% have one weekend day, and 10% work both Sat and Sun. I guess the consolation of working weekends is you get a weekday off, which is handy for doing business and errands.

Approximately 1 weekend every 2 months.

As an intern, I worked every sat and most holidays. As a pharmacist, no weekend and no holidays.

We have three pharmacists and we rotate weekends, so every third weekend. At my previous job we also had three pharmacists, but one never worked weekends, I worked every Sunday and the other one worked Saturdays.

It varies, I usually like weekdays off. Fewer people milling around when I do things, so I tend to volunteer weekends.

Our schedule is every other weekend, but it's a 3 day weekend, Friday-Sunday. Basically get a mini vacation every other week.

Work every other weekend and 5 holidays next year.

As a unicorn, I work every 3rd or 4th weekend, depending who is on leave (we have a pregnancy epidemic) and how well staffed we are.

We do 4 10s, so I prefer weekdays off any way.

i don't work any weekends AT ALL!

because i don't have a job 🙁

Every other weekend. I work 3-4 holidays per year. I just love that triple time on Christmas Day....

There're some interesting schedules on here.

I have no set schedule but seem to be trending back towards working every other weekend (ugh). Was usually working about one weekend a month before. Trying to think of some sort of new schedule I could potentially negotiate with my DOP if he sticks me back on every other weekend. The three day weekend sounds pretty sweet but it would probably mean giving up another day off somewhere for me, hmmm….

Wait....you are still on the old holiday payroll scheme where you can actually get triple time? In my district, they simply add 8 HOL hours to whatever you work. Man I would love to make nice money like that for working holidays again.

Oh yeah, I only have to work 2 holidays a year (1 winter holiday, 1 summer holiday), but since this year the winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) are in the middle of the week and I have no plans, I'm just gonna work Thanksgiving and Christmas at my main gig (time and a half + one paid day off whenever you work a holiday). Then I'm gonna work at the per diem job on New Year's day for time and a half. When I look at time, I'm seeing it as dollars rather than hours/minutes/seconds (don't know if that is bad or not).

Next year, all of the summer holidays are the day before my weekend off so it's gonna be at least 2 nice long weekend vacations for me.

retail, every 3rd saturday. we are closed sunday/holidays.

Hospital staff = Every other weekend, every other holiday so one year its work christmas off thanksgiving then the next its work thanksgiving off christmas. Weekends are usually slower and more chill and no supervisors around. plus having the day off during the week is nice for running errands and doing stuff.

Love it when it falls that way. I just had 5 days off for Thanksgiving that way. Wed was my normal day off, Thursday we were closed for Thankgiving, Fri, Sat, Sun my 3 day weekend. Our schedule is nice because taking one vacation day on a Thursday leads to that same nice stretch, but this one was even sweeter because it didn't cost any PTO.

Every 4th weekend, one winter holiday and one summer holiday.

Every other weekend at a retail chain, averaging about 500 rxs for the weekends! FUN

management, off weekends, work 1 weekend a month PRN

2 partner retail pharmacy, we rotate every other weekend (3 days). It helps that my husband has the same exact schedule even though we're at different companies.
I love working weekends though. It's slower and I have a great intern working with me. I also love having weekdays off to do whatever.
