Hey guys just a question for any faculty or admissions officers, how do medical school admissions committees' look at students who work while they are in school? Should asking for a recommendation letter from any of the places a student worked help the application?

I personally have a high opinion of people with employment history (and, in fact, think that it should be a requirement for med school).

LORs from supervisors seldom or helpful, because the're merely glowing testaments and not letters of evaluation, which is what we really want.

Yet at the same time if you DID get a letter from a supervisor that was honest and mentioned even the slightest weakness.... the applicant would be an auto reject.
