I would recommend you visit Budapest at least once in your life

spent a month there 4th year medical school. "away" rotation in radiology/traumatology.

basically sat in a room with 50 year old surgeons who threw up a few xrays and smoked cigarettes like it was going out of style.

goulash + hazi palinka is a nice combo

last time I was in Budapest, it was Socialist and under Soviet control... a long time ago.

I was there 2 and 3 years ago. Lovely place to visit. I don’t think you’d have issues. Watch out for the professionals on the street. It’s obvious. Beautiful woman suddenly staring at you from across the square…

i got stopped on 2 separate occasions by guys wearing white suits with red armbands, asking me for ID. i had an international student ID that was actually confiscated by the second group. this was in 2002 or 2003.

I’m going there for a visit next year. My girlfriend grew up in Hungary before moving to the US 17 years ago after she finished college.

I’m looking forward to see Budapest as well as a few nearby countries.
