I just got done taking my DAT, and am quite pleased with my scores:

AA: 22
Bio: 21
GC: 25
OC: 21
RC: 22
QR: 19
PAT: 17 😕

GPA: 3.33
Science ~ 3.25
at Michigan

As far as EC's ive got plenty of volunteer work at hospitals and dental offices, but very little as far clubs on campus... which may be worrysome..any thoughts?? As for shadowing, ive done some, but not a significant amount (maybe 8-12 hours)...will this be a big problem??

I am also a little worried about that PAT score. How important of a factor is the PAT when d-schools go over my app?? is it worth retaking to bring it up, risking the other scores???

FYI, i plan on applying to UMich, Detroit, Case, Marquette, Pitt, Tufts, BU, Temple.

Any thoughts on how my stats would measure up at those schools would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Awesome DAT! Your PAT is fine. I am not aware of any d schools that stress PAT as much as they stress DAT.

You are in, my friend!!! 👍

Great SCORES.. congratulations!

great scores--i don't think you should have ANY problems getting into those schools. if anything, i would say to add in more reach schools!

look at the old stats--if you look at the school averages for incoming classes, you'll notice that the PAT score is invariably lower than the AA. which means 1. the schools usually do not place a great emphasis on PAT 2.i think it is because the PAT is more just random testing rather than a test of your knowledge (the ppl who get accepted have a higher DAT score b/c those are the ppl who know their stuff the most; but with PAT the scores are more just randomly spread so even ppl with low AA can have a high PAT but still not be accepted)

Great scores. Your PAT is fine.

don't worry about it, i think the average PAT is generally 17 at most schools. I'm generalizing though.

your scores are great, i had an 19/20 and 3.4 and i got into 3 of those schools (Umich, BU, Temple) and waitlisted at case...your straight dude...

You are definitely fine. Don't worry about that PAT score at all. That's what I got and with much lower scores than yours. You should not worry at all. Relax and congrats on your scores

Just don't apply to the few schools that rely heavily on PAT scores (ie Pacific).

If you are worried about shadowing hours, just do some more. I would get at least 20. Not a hard fix. You have plenty of time to do another 10 or so hours.

i'd kill for a 17 PAT.
