Hi guys, i need some serious help and suggestions here. I just took my DAT today and got:
PAT: 18
RC:18
Total Science:18
Biology:19
G Chem: 17
Orgo: 16
QR:15
AA:17

I know these are average scores my GPA is science 3.2 and Overall 3.4. I have done poorly in my freshman and sophomore undergrad years but then got over 3.8+ GPA with 18 credit hours each semester for the next two years and have all A's in my upper level science courses. I have also done research in Clinical Exercise Physiology for a year and has over 350+ hours of shadowing a General Dentist. Also I have submitted my application on june 4rth this year and it is complete and has already been verified. I have great recommendation letter from my professors and the dentist. I have plenty of extra curricular activities and volunteer experiences. My question is where do I stand and what are my chances of getting into a Dental School. I have applied to 14 schools so far. Do you guys think it is necessary for me to re-take DAT in september and would it be too late? I am very much confused and in need of dire help! any good suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thank You....

I vote retake. The rest of your application looks good, but a 17 AA isn't that great.

you should retake and hope you do better..once you retake fax in the new score to the school don't wait for ada to send them

Retaking it would be best. How'd you study for it this time? Maybe some ppl can give you feedback to help you study for the retake.

Retake in three months. Apply NOW. Apply for a post-bacc (in case you don't get in this year). If you don't get in, do the post-bacc on top of getting good DAT scores.

Basically you need a plan in case you don't get accepted this cycle. There is a BIG possibility that you can and then there is a possibility that you won't. We all have these problems..but you need a cohesive plan. 👍

Thank you so much guys. I will retake it in september. I was so depressed with my scores because i actually studied my ass off for this exam but the night of the test i couldnt sleep due to test anxiety and barely pulled in couple hours of sleep before the test and during the test i had a major migraine, i was literally chugging those 5 hour energy shots before the test and during the test...i dont know what to blame, me or the headache...but i guess i have to do this all over again and hopefully this time i do well...but i was wondering if any one took ************** tests that they have available. Since i used all the dat acheiver, top score and Dat destroyer tests i was wondering if these would be of any help...Please let me know!

Dude!! Seriously!! Stay away from those energy shots, before your exam.
Instead of pumping your body with chemicals, try to get a good night sleep, then wake up early and eat a light breakfast.
I'm sure you'll do better next time.
Best of luck👍
