Once you've been accepted, how important is it to keep your grades up? Not that I'm going to be lazy about it, but would schools really care if your GPA slipped during your last two semesters, seeing as they won't know until the summer when you need to send them your final transcripts? Would they withdraw their offer to you? With the interviews (hopefully) taking up a considerable amount of time during my fall schedule, I don't really want to worry about continuing to get straight A's.

On another note, it sure feels great to have almost all of my secondaries finished.

I think the general rule is no lower than a C.... Also you would not want to get a bunch of C's. A good slacking goal might be to get straight B's.

yeah, some schools say that you have to get at least a C in all the classes you're currently enrolled in as a condition of acceptance.

Oh, but they don't care if you don't maintain your GPA....mine fell a little over 0.1 my senior year

In case you don't get an early acceptance, you might still want to keep your grades up in the chance you'll be waitlisted somewhere. You can tell: "Look, I still got A's in my classes. PLEASE accept me."

Some acceptances are contingent upon passing certain classes and certainly on receiving your degree, so just pass (C) and you'll be fine. Most people going to med school, however, have a certain mentality of excellence and get A's anyway.

I've seen some serious slacking post acceptance...i'm talking discontinued attendance and withdrawing from classes. Not for med school, though.
