Worth applying to Temple this cycle?

Okay I just finished my DAT with a very disappointing AA 17, PAT 20
My main school of choice is Temple ( I live very close and my sister goes there) I checked on pre dents and my gpa and my science gpa is over the reported averages. I have an overall of 3.4ish and my science gpa is 3.5 while the reported average for Temple are 3.3 and 3.19 for overall and science, respectivley. So my question is, is it worth applying to Temple for this cycle? Thanks

That data is a bit old and I think the stats are slightly higher by now. Unless you have some really outstanding extracurriculars I would recommend retaking the DAT. If your extracurricular/volunteer experience is good and you can really show your passion for dentistry (and Temple) you might stand a chance without a retake.

Not very long... the decision to take my DAT was somewhat last minute. If I get rejected this cycle and apply again for a later cycle, will that look bad?

why not just take a month and study hard to re-take the DAT and increase your chances of getting in right away by 10-Fold? Your gpa seems sufficient but I would just re-take the DAT, you still have some time, report that DAT and just re-take it and re-send the scores, it wont slow down your application

Plenty of people reapply every year, you are not at a disadvantage if you re-apply (unless you haven't improved your application from the year before.) Study hard and retake the DAT, get 19 and you'll be alright, and probably get into Temple. If you can retake it within the next month, and apply in mid July, your application won't be late, and you'll have a good shot this cycle.

is there a time limit as to how soon i can retake the DAT? some schools websites say 90 days but I am unsure if this is a universal rule.

you have to wait 90 days to retake DAT... I would retake and call Brian Hahn and let him know of your passion/desire to attend temple. GL
