Any insight would be appreciated!

I've never really sent an LOI or an update letter before and had a question about it. Am thinking of sending one to a school I have been WL at.

I do not have much to update on, other than that I have been a guest lecturer at a university abroad for the past two semesters.

Is that update worthy content? I dont want to make it sound like I am just looking for excuses to update them with.

Thanks so much!

Couldn't hurt. Unless the 40 cent stamp is going to bankrupt you.

I would def say its worth it. Talk about what you are doing and most importantly, let them know how badly you want to attend. At this point, schools want to increase their yield and make sure the students they accept really want to attend. Let them know what you would add to the school and why school X is the school you want to attend.

Cool. Thanks for the advice!

I was concerned that something like being a guest lecturer wasnt worthy of an update, since most updates seem to have to do with grades, publications, awards, honors etc...

Thanks so much!
