Why is that worthless? I think that it's kind of useful. Yes, it would have been nice if that person elaborated a little more, but I'm not sure what you were expecting.

Seriously though. That post is totally lame (yes, I'm from CA). Why bother to write it in the first place?
 
I don't really read interviewfeedback because the pre-allo pages offer so much more info.

When I interviewed at a school in October, I read the interview pages for the school and they all said basically the same thing. That was ok, but I didn't really learn very much. Instead I pm'd a few people and got GREAT feedback from students already at the school. Super advice, too.

I'd rather stick with the peeps here on the forums, but that's just me.
 
you know, some of the interview feedback posts are really helpful, but most of them are lame. why bother to post **** like "stress level=1, interview was very laid back and conversational...fantastic school, hope i get in!"

i mean, seriously, can one of you tell me why this is useful? has anyone here ever gone to an interview and had this happen:

interviewer: hello, nice to meet you.

you: thanks

interviewer: well, basically i just want to chat, you know, get to know you. it will be more like a conversation than an interrogation.

you: (thinking to yourself) oh ****!!! a "conversation"?? what's that? are we gonna smoke weed and make out or something? what a cruel bastard, this wasn't on the MCAT! i wasn't prepared for this! i should have read more interview feedback!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO

hey thats a somewhat decent feedback....

im glad now i know if i went to SA then i have to bring a crazy amount of 9 dollars for parking....i usually dont bring too much money at all to any interview...

he did list the questions asked...

unless you want a transcript of the whole thing.....
i was able to get something from that feedback...

and to the guy above me....

i would like to know the stress level is low and that its conversational rather than a more rigid Q&A session....which i know some of my friends had to endure....
it helps me just prepare a necessary mindset i suppose....
i dunno. i dont talk smack about the feedback because all in all it is awesome and very helpful.

i give back as much as i get out of it....my feedbacks are pretty detailed so enjoy....
 
This is one of the reasons why I stopped posting my interview feedback...what do you guys expect? most of the interviews were zero stress level with questions that get asked thousands of times. I think that the people posting the feedback are doing so to help others and although it may not read like a novel it may help you so why complain? I guess you will find out when you do go to the interviews and then *you* can post a novel.
 
no no no!!!! if you are going to post, then post something that is informative. that's the whole purpose of the darn thing. if you aren't going to say anything worthwhile then don't take up room on the feedback forum. for some of the schools the list of interviews are sooo long, then you go through and read them and figure out that most of them were useless anyway!!!! that is really a waste of time when someone is looking for HELPFUL INFORMATION!!!!! and YES, that's what we expect!! 🙄 🙄
 
What I had been doing was going through every post for each school I was interviewing at, and writing down every question-- it was good interview prep for me. Most of the time the questions were generic, but at both Duke and UNC, I was asked specific, way-out-there, original questions that by some divine grace I had come across on interview feedback.

Case in point: my Duke interviewer asked what I would do if I drove by a car accident and came across a bleeding man who told me that he had HIV. The catch: in the scenario, I myself had cut my hand that morning, and no first aid kit was available.

Questions like these can sometimes put people on the spot, and I was fortunate to have come across it earlier just by reading interview feedback.

But I will concede that for the most part, the feedback was useless.
 
wow that is one hell of a question 😀. I'd rather see more of those out of no where questions on the feeback than all the generic ones.

if you leave a full day of interviewing (the one for the school above is from 7:45am-4:00pm) and all you can say is "go to San Antonio don't come here" and that the parking is "9 buckssssssssssss" you obviously weren't paying attention to anything going on around you. what about the interviews? what about the interviewers? what about the facilities? the food? the traffic? impressions of the students? faculty? what about the hotels or student arrangements? the social functions the night before?
these are the things people want to know whey they're trying to figure out what to expect from a school, not "stress level was 1 out of 10 and they asked me these 3 generic questions."
take what you will from the reviews, but if someone is going to take the time to read them at least return some effort in writing them.

the interview feedback probably isn't supposed to be a scientifically valid measure of people's experiences. it's just a semi-structured way to get across your subjective impression of what went on at the interview and the school----key word being subjective.

subjective or not, you still want an impression. monet didn't paint with just 2 hues.
