Is volunteering in the ER to stock things and clean/set up rooms a worthwhile experience? I would not get much patient contact (maybe get to see them from a distance) but it's more of an ER support type of thing. I'd imagine most ER volunteering positions are similar even pre-COVID?

Is this worth it? It would open up a lot of time to focus on the MCAT. Otherwise, I can shoot for a scribe position. Your thoughts are appreciated!
Scribe would for sure be seen as better. But you also need to focus on your MCAT. At the end of the day you have to balance these competing factors. What would be the title of the job?

If you can get the scribe job, for sure do that if you don't have the clinical hours/shadowing. The MCAT is more important though. You can have 8 million scribe hours but if you have a 490 MCAT you aren't going to medical school. Balance is the name of the game.
