Would getting a non-medical related internship look weird to adcoms?

So I am applying this cycle and I am a non-trad. Will it look weird to adcoms if I got an internship dealing with robotics? for reference I have about 150 hours of clinical volunteering and 500 plus non-clinical volunteering. My last internship dealt with medical devices. I'm just wondering, could this be viewed as a pro or con to adcoms? @Goro @LizzyM @gyngyn

Everybody need to pay the bills...
Lol yeah almost everybody. I know a few people that didn't pay for anything so they could volunteer for a ridiculous amount of time. Also removed that from the description

It's a pre-med delusion that everything you do has to be related to Medicine.

What we really want is for you to love what you do and do what you love.

Do you want to do medicine or robotics? Justify your answer. Not saying you shouldn't do the internship but that you should be able to describe why you are doing it. Is it paid or unpaid?

It is paid and I have many interests outside of medicine. I wish I could do them all but i can't. I like to code and i also like robotics obviously both of those professions pay well but my love for medicine is much greater than my interest in these hobbies. My reasoning is I have interests in these areas and if I could some day work with both robotics/coding and medicine to better the lives of my community then that would be awesome.

That would be a great response if you are asked at interview.

Totally anecdotal but, I did a farming and ranching internship for 2 years, and farmed for another summer outside of the internship. I was still accepted, it wasn't even brought up in any interviews.

I guess the reason I'm asking is because some secondaries ask what you have been doing since applying and Ill have to explicitly talk about the internship
