Does "elementary calculus" mean calc 1? If it does, I'd say those two courses together wouldn't be anything to worry about. Calc 1 is cake if you know anything about algebra, and the same goes for physics.
 
Hmm well thats good haha. I consider myself proficient in algebra, hopefully i'll be able to do well in those classes.

You're going to have to take some sciences concurrently. I took gen chem 2, physics 1, and bio 1 at the same time, followed by organic 1, physics 2 and bio 2 the next semester.

Hmm true but I took bio + lab and general chem 2 + lab this semester. It kicked my ass.

This. There's really no way around it, unless you want to add another year. Next semester I'll be taking Calc 2, Stats, Orgo 1, and Microbio...should be interesting.

Your gana kill yourself. I mean I don't mind taking micro, stat and orgo if micro doesn't have a lab. If it does i'd be very unhappy.
 
It depends on how good you are at math. For some people physics and calculus are considered relatively easy compared to courses that require more memorization such as anatomy or o-chem. For me, taking two math oriented courses in that same semester would be a killer. Math is my weaker subject and I make sure that I only have one math oriented course per semester. But if you feel like you can handle it, take a look at all of the other courses you are taking and make sure you are not overloading yourself. Its better to go a tad slower than cram a bunch of hard courses in one semester and have your grades suffer. I learned the hard way. :smack:

Calc 2 and Stats really shouldn't take too much work... Calc 2 wasn't difficult and Stats is really easy too, so they shouldn't be much to worry about at all.

My general micro class was 5 credit hours and it had a lab. The lab was fun though and you had a chance to learn a lot. However, it is a lot of work. I took orgo 1 at the same time and it while it was a lot of work, it didn't kill me and was able to pull off an A in both. If you study really hard and keep up with everything, it shouldn't be bad at all.
 
I'm taking physics 1 and calc 2 right now, its not too bad, but its demanding. However it is recommended (by both my physics and calc professors) that they should not be taken in the same semester

General Chem 2 was hard. I took it the semester I overloaded myself too much, I took Gen Chem 2 + Lab, Anatomy, Calc I, and Bio I + lab and I also had work to deal with. I was trying to get everything done in one semester so I could graduate sooner but it wasnt worth it. I ended up with a D in Chem 2. I got an A in the lab though. It made me feel dumb but then again I didn't put as much work into it as I should have because Anatomy class and the Bio I lab reports were taking up so time and I wanted to pass Calc I. (I really don't like math). I know I could have done much better and I have to retake it. I was still able to move up to Orgo and I sure learned my lesson, Im never overloading myself with 2 math oriented courses in the same semester!

lol, I took Calc 2/physics/ochem and a biochem research class in the same semester. 4.0 and #2 score in ochem (250 students) / #1 in calc 2/ but physics I couldn't compete with the top guys. Can't be perfect...

It was hard, and obviously if you don't HAVE to you may not want to.

But when has life been fun not taking risks?

Trig based physics is cake. If you have an IQ over 20 you should be able to ace it without studying at all. I never studied for Calc based physics and I got perfect scores on every exam.

Also, Calc 1 is easy, calc 2 I wouldn't take with any heavy science courses. But then again you have to decide what's best for you?

Take note of your cognitive faculties and assess how you want to accomplish your goals using the aforementioned faculties, or lack thereof.

🙄 Well excuse me Einstein, In every physics class in my school, about half the class drops the course.
To be good at physics you have to do the problems, but i guess that is only reserved for people with IQ's below 20 :meanie:

Same I overloaded myself, bio w/lab , chem 2 w/lab, stat, English 102 ( tons of papers), social psych ( papers, papers, papers).

I took physical chemistry, biochemistry, and neuroscience all in one semester. If I could handle that, you can handle this. don't sweat it.

Same here. Plus spanish, pre-calc 🙂D) and a psych course. I'm getting all A's but it sucked. I start studying for finals tomorrow 🙁

Calc I and Gen. Physics won't be a problem because while Calc. I might demand that you learn new, novel mathematics, Physics will not teach you new math. Physics will teach you Physics, which if you understand on the conceptual level will make the math as easy as apple pie.

Also, my freshman semester I took Calc II, Physics I, Gen Chem, and Philosophy of Science. You'll be able to handle this easily.
