Would it be wise to get a NBDE Part I Kaplan book or similar and for me to look over it/read before I attend dental school?

I know what you all are going to say..... go have fun dont worry about it, but honestly, i am bored and really dont like reading novels. I watch too much tv so i figure maybe ill get this book. Would it be helpful, or at least a refresher from my undergrad classes biochem, anatomy, phys, etc?

This summer i will have a job where i sit and and usually watch movies. I figure i could read some then too. I would rather read/study a book liek this than read a novel.... what do you guys think? Buy it or not? Or should i buy anatomy flash cards?

I'm in a similar situation. I purchased the Kaplan dentessentials book and haven't opened it yet. Reasons being is that my motivation is low, plus I'm afraid that it'll bore me to death before school starts. I'm scared to study the book.

haha you will realize what you got yourself into by applying to dental school. Yeah that dentessentials book is what i was lookign at. It seems like it may be a ok book.

that dentessentials book provides high yield study material. lots of tables. pretty useless if you haven't taken the courses yet.

Yes. I have the first aid for USMLE and it would be pointless for you to look at these books now. If you insist on purchasing some review books, look into the ridiculously simple series for microbio and physiology & lippincott's illustrated biochem review.

But, again.... instead of studying you should do something productive like partying like a rockstar, training for a marathon, or whatever. It's 11:30 on a saturday night and I'm studying for a neuroscience exam. Fun.
