Would it look fishy if I put this into my AADSAS???

Hey guys I had some quick questions about preparing for this year's AADSAS.
2015 will be my second year applying and as a non-trad former pre-med student, I have amassed approx 1700 volunteer hours since 2009 and 700 dental shadowing hours since 2011.

My question is if these numbers are too excessive to list, they are indeed legitimate, but I still feel unsure about what those giant numbers will look to admissions personnel.

This leads to my second question, as I apply for this year's AADSAS, should I leave out years old volunteering/shadowing experience in order to provide a more "down to earth " set of hours? I dont want to falsify information, or raise any red flags in case the dental schools have a copy of my last years AADSAS , but I'm not sure that volunteer hours from 2009 may even be pertinent to the application and I just want everything to go right.

Can you guys please give me some advice/insight?

btw I'm a 3.0gpa undergrad but I just finished my second semester of SMP for a 3.8 total gpa.

It doesn't raise any red flag to me..... As long as the math doesn't come out to volunteering 30 or more hours/week.

Add to whatever your original amount was from last year cycle.

It would probably raise a flag if you were just finishing up your junior year in college and applying, but not for 6+ years of volunteering/shadowing.

For my dental experience hours, I had thousands of hours of assisting listed, because I worked part time as a dental assistant for five years through my senior year of high school and throughout college. Didn't raise any red flags since I listed that the hours were amassed in 5 years. They came out to about 10-15 hours per week.

You should be glad your numbers are really high. Many people dont even get to 100 hours of shadowing by the time they apply to D-school.

That said, quality is better than quantity. Your hours are great, but can you tell me engaging and inspiring stories about those volunteering/shadowing experiences in your PS?
Thanks for the reply. Yes these are deep meaning volunteer opportunities that I hope will represent the professional goals I strive towards as a dentist.

On another note Muhammed, thanks for your good advice, I've been reading your posts and they've really helped out.

Thanks for the replies guys. I appreciate the insight and am glad I asked.
