These are courses as a part of a BS in Clinical Lab Science at the school of Allied health.

AHMT 3400 Clinical Chemistry I4 hours
AHMT 3405 Clinical Bacteriology I4 hours
AHMT 3455 Principles of Immunology4 hours

AHMT 3450 Clinical Chemistry II4 hours
AHMT 3460 Clinical Bacteriology II4 hours
AHMT 3470 Hematology I4 hours

AHMT = Allied Health Medical Technologist.

I know these are sort of gray area but is there any reason why they couldn't count for Biology/Chemistry courses? I'm considering applying to this program but really will only do so if I'm sure these will count for sGPA, or my SGPA after this year isn't high enough.

Thanks!

You can list them as Biology/Chemistry but AMCAS may switch them anyway. The fact that they are through an "Allied Health" program instead of a biology or chemistry department may mean that they will not count for BCPM.

From what I understand you input your own classes that you think are sciences and AMCAS looks at them to verify. So if you take a class that doesn't appear to be a science but actually had 50% or more science related info, you can put it down under BCPM and the worst that'll happen is AMCAS changes it. I remember reading about someone listing their nursing pharmacology and patho classes as BCPM even though they were NRSG and AMCAS sent him an email to confirm they were science heavy, he said yes, they stayed the same. He told me this was like 8 years ago though so I don't know if the process has changed.

I don't think its that easy anymore. AMCAs will change it for you now to what they see fit. Then if theres any discrepancies you have to email them along with any proof (such as a syllabus) to show it is science heavy.

I think OP should list them BCPM. Worst thing is AMCAs changes it for you, which shouldn't affect your app in any way.
