Hello,

I have applied to Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar for the 2011 premedical program. The only problem in my application, which I believe is highly severe, is the fact that I did not take the TOEFL exam. I have sent the admissions an email asking them about it, and they said that even if I take the exam they will not be able to process the results, however they do not discourage me from taking the exam and sending the results. My university advisor told me that it was "pretty serious" to the college.

My question is: would the college reject me for not taking the TOEFL exam? I am really worried, it is the only university I applied to.

Thank you in advance.

Unless they've changed things since I've been there, any other tests/courses that show you have English proficiency will suffice.

The majority of my class did not take it.

(I did have 1280 on the SATs at the time and GCSE A-Levels in 3 science courses.)

Good luck!

If English is your native language, then its not required.

WCMC-Q is sooooo slow......slower than their American counterpart 😴. Definitely still worth it IMO (and the thousand dollar interview flight).

Have you been called for an interview? They have already done most of them I think. Where are you from? It makes a difference. I was a US applicant this year, so I never had to worry about these exams. I think if you get a good critical reading SAT score, you should be fine.

Yes it is definitely worth it.

I am not an English native speaker; I am from Jordan.

I did not prepare for the SAT at all, and I got 570 on critical reading, which is not that good. I haven't been called for an interview and the status of my application is still "Decision Pending".

i got interviewed on 23rd march and i'm still waiting 4 the decision. What are the chances that i get accepted?????

As far as I know if a student is called for an interview then s/he fulfills their requirements. I believe your chance of being accepted is pretty high.

I wish you the best of luck! Think positively 🙂

the problem is dat i get very nervous and i think i didn't do that well in the interview. hope that u are true merely alive......

I also get nervous easily.

Our minds sometimes generate thoughts that are, well, in most cases false. Did you know that fear is an acronym for false evidence appearing real?

Whenever you feel nervous just take in a deep breath and concentrate on what it is that is making you nervous, let your mind deal with the problem. Simply escaping from it will not help.

Good luck 🙂

i got accepted to the wcmc-q pre-med program!!!!!!

Congratulations! I am truly happy for you!
