and on Thursday at the interview in Kirksville, it's supposed to be a high of about 30...

Just FYI for those of you out of state as an example of how wacky the weather is around here. 🙂

I would never call this a "cold" climate..but we do have our highights (lowlights) around here. Personally, I'll take midwest weather in the winter over midwest weather in July and August...but that's just me.

I WANT IT TO SNOW HERE NOW!!!😡 D@MN global warming! My Christmas decorations look ridiculous sitting outside next to GREEN GRASS!!! LOL!

I don't mind warm days in November, December, Jan., Feb., or March at all! Allowed us to get a lot of outside stuff done and be outside!

That all changes about Monday or so though.

Does this every year.

Hey guys,

KCOM Class of 2011 here. Growing up in Missouri I learned this saying rather quickly.

"If you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes"

Nice to herar things haven't changed too much.

That's not a saying exclusive to Missouri. They say that about just about every state in the country.

I live in Tampa, Fl and right at this moment it is 71 degrees. Not bad. It is suppose to get up to 78 today and tomorrow and then 80 on Monday. The weather is always nice down here 😉 A few years ago, we were in the 80s still in mid December. I remember because my boyfriend and I had a picnic on the beach on Dec. 17 (I know it bc it was the day we got engaged) and it was warm!

I remember in State College 2 years ago I think...It was 70+ one day, girls were tanning and then we got 2 inches of snow while I took my nap the next day.

Just thought I would update folks that might be travelling to this part of the country later in the week. There is a Winter Storm Watch issued for tomorrow afternoon through Thursday.

Biggest worry is apparently ice north of Kansas City.

And, supposed to be 70 degrees today...HA!

Well biggest worry is ice all over the area b/c wed night will be ice b/c the snow/sleet/rain won't freeze b/c the ground is goign to be very warm and then the temp is going to drop really quickly. Anyone in MO, AR, OK, KS be prepared for nasty weather! There is apparently winter watches already out for most of western MO and eastern KS (including KC and Kirksville!) so Wed-Fri is going to be messy! BE SAFE!!!!

I'm sad I'm out of the reach of the good stuff. I miss snow/sleet/ice but these mid-west southerns have NO idea how to drive in the stuff, its kinda comical. 😳

I don't mind the 70 degrees right now thought.

A few days ago, we were at -10 here in Alaska. You can tell it's super-cold when you step outside and your nose hairs freeze. It can't even snow when it's that cold. Kind of invigorating, actually. Now we're in a hot spell; it's a whopping 13. It's icy as heck. I'm used to falling on my arse approximately 234098 times each winter.

Yep, we're supposed to get it, too. I'm not excited.
Freezing rain = mushy is staying in all day thurs. :meanie: Especially with a high of 31 and wind chill expected about 10 degrees lower. Oh and that blasted north wind, which means most likely I might have issues with using my fireplace ... Since its not meeting state regulations that chimney should be 2 ft taller than the highest point of the roof when it blows over the roof it can create a downdraft and blows smoke into the house ... I hope that doesn't happen. My house is ALWAYS cold as it is ... 🙁

I wanna move to alaska 😍 Are you planning on returning?? And congrats on your acceptances! Go non-trads! 😀

It's freezing up here in Norway. Darnmit.

I'm jealous. 🙂 We have this group project thing in biochem on Thursday that's worth 3% of our total grade, so I can't skip. At least I'm not interviewing like some of you guys.

I do love Alaska, especially in the summertime when we have 20 hours of daylight per day. I might be able to see myself coming back here after med school, but they only have one residency program (family practice)! But that might be just up my alley. I don't know. A lot can change in four years!

At this point, I'm just hoping anyone travelling in this part of the country makes it to their destination safely.

That was one interesting drive, and I didn't even travel in the worst of it.

Here in Texas the temperature today is 81... yesterday 42... nasty and humid!

Drove home on perfectly dry (for the most part) roads today...

Amazing that we aren't that far from KC, but the weather is worlds different down there than it is here.

No Snow at all...none. Just the ice yesterday.

It does, however, appear that the weather honks in KC finally got one right though. Hope all the people flying get where they're supposed to go tonight.

It's sleet!!! We have 3 inches of sleet here in Springfield! It sleeted all day today and is supposed to snow all day tomorrow. All of my firewood is glazed in ice. 😱
I brought some in before it started then I grabbed some before the snow hit (with the ice) some if it dried a little but hey, the heat dries it out anyways!
