Well, I never thought this day would come! I thought I would lose my perfect GPA in physics or in calculus but, somehow between now and then I made it. I am soooooooo shocked and excited!!! Therefore, I had to share this news with the incredible DO community. I always wanted to be a member of the 4.0 Club. Has anyoe else accomplished this craziness?? I thought all my partying would surely make me lose it som day... lol Oh, and on a side note after 6 years of dating my beautiful girlfriend I got engaged!!! ahhhhhhh 😱

sounds like you are having a good day. 😉

Congratulations!!

dr hess, today is your day!!! awesome job, congrats.

i think you should buy a lottery ticket too! 😉

yea .. the lottery ticket is a great idea and while you're at it... go to Las Vegas.

YES!!!!!!!
I better go get one!!! and get married on 070707 then as well lol!!
Thanks for the congrats!! I am still in disbelief. 😱

I did it too...in Chemical Engineering. Hope I didn't rain on your parade. Congrats on a job well done!

No it didn't that is awesome it was crazy to actually get it huh!! awesome job!!!!😀

Congrats dude.... A 4.0 throughout undergrad is pretty stellar. I got a good GPA. 3.5+ but not a 4.0. My hat is off to you 👍

Congrats buddy. Some day you'll have to teach me how to consistently get A's. Seems like all I can consistently pull are B's. Only have 2 C+'s in all of college, but it's these damned awful B's. 👎

Man, I have had a lot of C+s, a C, a C-, an F. But all those were my first two years at school.

my goal for spring 07 (besides getting into med school) is to 4.0 every class i'm taking

Yea, I had a 4.0....once, and then I took chem and physics and all of those classes. LOL! Oh well. Seriously, CONGRATULATIONS to anyone who can accomplish that. It is something to be extremely proud of!😀 :luck:

Just so you guys know, I have a horrible gpa. This semester was the first time ever I have a 4.0 in 4 science classes none the less. I am so excited and feel like my life is FINALLY on the right track to apply to med schools in the next few years 😉 It can be done and mistakes can be made up ... as I state ...

2.0/semester -> 4.0/semester in one year ... granted its only one semester but I finally got my "study back" And my life is finally in the right order ... for now ... 😀 This is my only 4.0 or even 3.5 semester in undergrad classes. And it will probably be my only one ... but I can finally say dean's list!! (compared to never coming CLOSE before 😀 )

Congrats on the hard work paid off for all of those who did their best this past semester!

Nice, orgo took my 4.0 for a ride way back when. Damn funny chemical symbols.

How many total credit hours of coursework are we talking here becuase if you made 4.0 with just a BS(~120 cr. hrs), I think it's doable. I did it too, but I missed when I added extra 93 cr. hrs after getting my BS in EE. Still, I would go ahead and congratulate you..👍 Congrats!!

word! Orgo I and II killed me out of a 4.0!

Congrats on the 4.0 and Engagement!!!! 😀 :luck:

GPA is sooooooo overrated, its almost laughable.

I graduated with a 3.2. Booyah.

But, nice work, nonetheless.

Could you please inform AdCom's of this? They seem to think my GPA from 10 years ago is more relevant than many other things.

Incidentally, I'm a member of the 3.2 club as well..and I guess I'm good with that considering I winged a significant portion of undergrad.

I should have added the clause, "GPA = overrated provided there is a substantial discrepancy between GPA and MCRAP"

I also accomplished that, it is an awesome feeling to go from a C student to an A student. It can defiantly be done, my first two year were nothing to be proud of, my last two however I am extremely proud of, 1 B (orgo II), 2 A-'s and the rest A's.

Congratulations on the 4.0, I was shooting for that during my last two years and didn't quite make it, it is a hard thing to accomplish. You always have to be on your game.

My freshman year was decent, sophmore year a bit better I met with my advisor that year about medical school and she said I didn't have that much of a competitive chance because my grades weren't stellar. I was so pissed off that some one doubted me that both semesters my junior year I got a 4.0. After that she put a smile on her face and said that she was sorry for doubting me and wrote the best letter of recomendation I could have recieved. She said usually when a student promises her that next year they will have a 4.0 she lets it go as wishful thinking. If your in a bad spot now realize that it is possible.

Congrads on both accomplishments !!!

yeah it was a BS in BIO ~ 122 hours... Thank for the congrats~ Damn EE

It's cool that you pulled off a 4.0! However, when it comes to applying to Osteopathic Medical School, students are allowed to retake classes, and the new grade will replace the old grade. What I guess I'm trying to say is, a lot of the people in this forum, who have a 3.5 or higher, could technically retake all the B's that they made in around a year’s time, make A's in all the classes, and apply Osteopathic Medical School with a 4.0 as well. Of course that can be easier said than done, but it is theoretically possible. Congrats on the 4.0! I just thought I would enlighten a few of the people in this forum to aspire to the same heights that you have, because it is possible. That beings aid, it’s not like you need a 4.0 to go to medical school, but good is definitely a good mark to shoot for and if you can hit it head, just as the OP has, you should really empress ADCOMS, unless of course you make a 19 on the MCAT and show up to your interviews naked, you should be fine. I hope you’re MCAT scores turn out well!

Best of luck.

This thread makes me wonder how I would have done had I actually studied when i went to undergrad the first time!

🙂

Congrats, that's a nice accomplishment.

Same here. In fact, one semester of grad school left before my master's, and I have yet to take a single note in class. :hardy:
