I just took my DAT. I received an AA19 and TS19 with a PAT 16. I dont get it. I was averaging 21/22 on CDP but I got annihilated on the real DAT. THere was a section on cube counting where there are spaces between cubes, so I wasn't sure if it was a hidden cube or if it was a space and there were NO blocks above. Argh.. I applied this cycle.. do you think a retake in Dec is bad?

BTW my sci gpa is 3.00 and my nonsci- 3.4 Masters: 3.75 I really needed to blow this DAT out of the water, but in fact, it blew me 🙁

First off, I wanted to thank you guys for such awesome breakdowns. I've been a lurker for the past 6 months here and everyone's breakdowns have been tremendously helpful. Ill skip my breakdown since my scores are well.. not great, haha who would wanna take my advice? But anyways I took my DAT at 9 am today and am dazed. I feel relieved but I feel like crap. I feel like all my time studying didn't pay off.. 🙁 Here are my scores.

PAT 16 (31.2) (THOSE DAMN CUBES!)
QR 16 (65.3) again. i wanna rip my hair out.
RC 19 (67.6)
BIO 18 (72.1)
GC 23 (97.3)
OC 17 (55.9)
TS 19 (83.3)
AA 19 (86.6)

So I'm not quite sure how my AA is 19 but i have 16's in QR and PAT. Should I inform admissions I plan on retaking my dat? I'm afraid if i do that, they will put my application on hold. What do you guys think? I want to mention again, thank you guys in advance. I know i sound like such a whiner right now, I'm just a little flustered since I feel like my 4 months of studying didn't really pay off or show for it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

19 isn't bad. 16 in PAT might raise flags though. Cross your fingers for these 3 months and go for a retake in Dec?

I think you should give us a full list of scores.. some scores (RC) are more significant than others (QR). Thanks, and don't worry. 19s will get you in somewhere!

As stated a full breakdown of your scores would help but I would say stick with what you have for this cycle... If you end up taking it again give yourself enough time to really get PAT down solid and where you know your other scores will increase +2 per section. Good luck👍

If your apps are in, I think it's too late at this point to take the DAT again. If you do try taking the DAT again, make sure you know it cold. I gather it'd be your third time and for many schools, that's the last time. Personally I'd just weather the cycle. If schools bite, great. If not, then really focus on the DAT next summer and get it down cold.

dude, i was getting around 22-23 on crack PAT and i got a 16 as well. it blows my mind man. i'd say retake bc i think you can do better on the sciences. do well in those and apply to schools that don't regard the PAT much (which is what i'm doing). PM me if you have any qs

and for some weird reason, i think we had the same exam based off of the percentages haha.
