Hey guys who are taking the CBT exam as part of WREB or who have taken it, here I am starting a thread to share information to help people like me to prepare for this exam. I have no clue what to expect at that exam and what kind of questions to face. Can somebody recommend any reading material which would help to better prepare for this exam?. What kind of questions do you see for perio and for prostho?

Are you competent? If so, you'll pass.

ok these are the stuff you should be concentrating:

    Treatment planing sequence:
    Perio
    Oral surg
    Operative
    then prostho...last thing to do
Complete denture -- make sure you know this part extremely well
    with its problems..VDO,,,VDR..how to calculate..
    different types of pt.
    phonetic problem with setting teeth

    partial denture
all the components in partial denture ( function of each section)
    indirect retainer
    direct retainer
    major connector..etc

    finish line:
    gold - chamfer
    porcelain - sholder
make sure you have an idea of different type of provisional restoration
    implants ( 5%)
    all parts of implant
the most common surgory procudure for implants

    when to use retraction cord
    how to prevent bleeding
medication contraindicated with epinephrine in tooth prep

    in Perio:
make sure you know the types of flaps surg. why and where
    gingivectomy
    crown lengtening
    tx planing for perio
root planing and scaling versus prophy, know biological width and what it means.
bone loss tx ( tissure guided generation )

    meidcation causes gingivitis
concentrate mostly on : patient as a whole
for example they might ask you why we have to save a particular tooth in a partial denture. or why a particular tooth need to be extracted.
    hummm..
let me see what else I remember..
also be tight on medication that is related to dental. I didn't see any questions on medications, however Ithink It can be a good game in Tx planing of a patient.
% of normal hemoglobine in men and women..

    be tight with
    Diabetic
    Asmathic
Blood pressure ( mild moderat severe) primary hypertention versus secondary
this much I remember if I remember more I will write you more
    good luck to you.
let me tell you something about this site. I didn't get that much of help here, and I think either they are busy or they have their own groups and they don't care about others that much...
well this is as much as I could do for you
    best of luck
