Has anyone interviewed here? What were your impressions of the place? Trying to decide whether I should go for interview because I had already had an interview in Michigan earlier this month. It looks like it may be a decent program but I'm not sure. I did notice that the interim chair is an internal medicine person, which is odd. Also, it is a newer program, which isn't a big deal. I need to make a decision by 12/26. Thanks.

I interviewed there and liked the people. PD is a nice guy, as is Dr. Ludwig (one of the professors who started the program).

Sometimes those smaller programs will be a gem.

I recently interviewed at UMKC - a newly established Neuro program. I was impressed at the length they go through to recruit a new class. The program focused heavily on education, "resident wellness", and a service track specifically tailored to your career goal. I liked that small 2 -resident/class Neuro program way better than big names like U Michigan, Iowa, UTSW, and Virginia - where residents are overworked and burdened with "research" requirement".

I would go if I were you. You spent 250K on your med education to get to this point. what is another couple hundred for an interview?

Thank you for your replies. @NeurologyHopeful2018 you're right about newly established programs being gems. I've found one like that already. After considering many factors, I decided to decline this interview.
