Okay so today I had a noise complaint from my on-campus apartment (2nd year). An RSO knocks on my door, I try to come out and close my door but her is right in front of my door so I accidentally bump into him. He immediately tells me that I am assaulting him takes my name down and writes me up for "assault of an on-campus officer" and alcohol odor. Will this show up in my transcript record when I apply to med-school. I obviously wasn't trying to assault him but rather step out of my apartment. A seconds RSO was "witness to me assaulting him" and my roommate was next to me to see what happened.

Am I in any problems as far as med-school aps?

Get a copy of your transcript and find out if this incident is there. If so, then figure out how to get it removed if it is a mistake. If this is a total misunderstanding, there is a grievance procedure in place that you likely can take advantage of.

Not unless it went to judicial review. They can't just add stuff like that to your record willy-nilly, otherwise any RSO who disliked you could lodge a complaint against you without your knowledge, and you'd be hosed.

What do mean by a grievance procedure? Today, my resident dean called me in to talk to me and hear my side. She said it sounded like I had some adrenaline going on and that most likely in this cases they would cancel my housing contract. She said I have to meet with someone else and then they will determine whether I will be asked to leave or not. This is complete Bs, he wrote down that he asked me not to touch him and that i continued to make my way through the door. Also, that he left enough space for a normal sized person to exit the door which obviously was not the case.

When he said you he was writing you up for assulting him you should have acutally assulted him (assuming you were bigger than him)

As long as your roommate agrees with what you've said, I'd fight back. In the event that none of the typical grievance processes work, and your roommate is willing to side with you strongly, go to the school's legal counsel (skip the lowly dean of student life -- s/he's a pawn at this point) and let them know your complaint. If that doesn't work, contact a lawyer and begin to play dirty. Ensure that the wannabe is discredited and overwhelm the school's legal counsel and student life dept's as needed. If you play smart, you will be able to force them to drop this by making it more trouble than it's worth. Obviously, don't do anything illegal and avoid burning bridges. Barring things that would harm your reputation, hurt others, or ruin your connections with faculty, you can do quite a bit if it is necessary. Always start gentle but don't feel like you have to lie down if you have been unjustly accused.
