writing about research in personal statement

That's absolutely not true. It doesn't even make sense really. You don't have to talk about any one specific thing in your PS, as long as it is explaining why you want to be a doctor.

hi,

I read in couple med app help books that it's crucial to include research experience in personal statement. Is this true?
I am currently working on mine and I am struggling with the character limit and would like to know how important it is to include research experience.
I did learn a lot from research and it was an important experience that helped me realize medicine is the right path for me, but it doesn't necessarily fit with the rest of my essay's flow or the theme.

Thanks for your help!
If you are struggling with the character limit chances are you are going into too much unnecessary detail about your actual methods and not paraphrasing enough. If Gawande and Mukherjee can fit their story within 5300 words, so can you.
