Hi everyone

The prometric center I'm taking the DATs at told me that we get laminated paper with grids on them to write on. My sister took the USMLEs last month at the same site and said that those were so bad to write on that she gave up.

Does everyone that takes the DATs get this same stuff to write on (with the grids?) They said yes, but I just wanted to double check.

Also, do you guys feel like the boards were too annoying to write on as well? I'm a little worried b/c I think better when I write a bit down but if the stuff is too annoying then I probably should be practicing without writing anything down. (what's with the grids anyway? do they think that we're going to be drawing graphs or something?)

Thanks

i just took my DAT yesterday and yes, they did give me 2 sheets of laminated grid paper and two markers. i didn't mind using them cause i practiced using a whiteboard and a marker so it was nothing new to me. just practice using a marker and such, its not that bad!

i would say the only bad thing about it is that if you run out of paper you have to hope one of the proctors notices that you need more when you wave your hand around..haha...but they are pretty good at it. just start raising your hand a little before you actually need the change and you sohuld be fine.

goodluck!

so it sounds like the grid wasn't a problem for you. i'll definitely start practicing with the white erase board

thanks!

congrats on taking the test yesterday🙂
