Hey

Im new to this forum and sorry if this question is obvious or asked already, but i was wondering for the colleges that require 3 quarters or 2 semesters of writing comp do they have to be upper division or can they be lower division. My situation is I go to UCSD Muir college and have taken the two lower division writing comp courses required by my college to graduate, so does 3rd course that I take in writing comp have to be upper division or can it be lower division? Thanks for all the help

I'd call and ask to be sure rather than relying on this forum. I thought most just required any sort of english college credit. I did apply to Maryland though, and they said that I didn't have enough English credits bc I tested out of English 101 through AP and my SATs and was put right into advanced writing. Now I believe this school wants me to go back to take the easier 101 class that I was exempt from. Technicalities drive me nuts, but that is the only school that has hassled me on the matter...so every school is different.

I only took English 1010 and English 2010. It seems to be enough for me.🙂

I don't think it matters whether it's upper or lower division. As long as there's a writing (essay) component for the course(s). But yeah, it's definitely good to check with the individual schools to know for sure 🙂
