Hey Everybody, I have been self-studying for next week's MCAT. I was hoping somebody would be willing to read my practice writing samples and give me some feedback. If you would be willing to do this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a bunch--just PM me if you have a few minutes.

MOD's, I know this should be in the MCAT forum (duplicate thread) but I haven't had much luck in there and I know this form gets more traffic. Could this thread be left here a few days please?

I know that if you follow the directions with precision your score will be high. I think as long as you expain what it means, example and counter example with explanation and wrap up with a conclusion. I am sure you are intelligent enough to for a solid point. So if you can back up your argument, you are golden

Forget about the writing sample, concentrate on the verbal section.

I agree with this to a significant extent. I looked over the essay "review" section of the Kaplan prep book about fifteen minutes before the test and got a "T". If you define the terms, explain the core conflict, and then give two or three good paragraphs (with examples), and tie it up into a nice package with your conclusion, you'll be golden.

That being said, if you really want constructive feedback, I'll take a look. I teach technical writing, and I've been working in the humanities (philosophy and logic) for the past twelve years, so if there is anything I know how to do, it's how to write a persuasive essay.

agreed, i used the essay time to just relax and destress, get my mind some chill time befor ebio, i finished those essays way before time, didnt put anything deep in it, im sure 8th graders could have wrote more insightful essays with better vocabulary but i ended up with an O and it hasnt hurt me a bit

I didn't do all that great on the writting section but if u really want someone to read it PM it to me. It will keep me away from P-chem for a bit

Thanks for the responses guys, I just didn't take a Kaplan course and I don't want to go in without any feedback.

i agree with this strategy.👍
i'm not a good writer by any means, but my advice-- when you do practice, make the template/organization of every essay as similar and simple as possible. there's no need to get creative.
