Hi,

In order to participate in a semester abroad program and graduate on time, I changed my schedule on the first day of the semester prior to the program. This happened many years ago and I was left 3 W's on my transcript, even though this was well before the drop/add cutoff date at my school. I didn't think anything of it at the time because I added 3 "equal" courses immediately back on to my schedule and didn't even have a chance to attend class before the changes were made.

Seems as if the consensus around here is that W's are bad news. What gives? Many students make scheduling changes during the first week of a semester and for good reasons. Does a "W" on a transcript look bad only if the student didn't pick a full course load back up?

Thanks,
Chris.

Just explain it in the interview. I have 3 W's as well. No worries. If you take those classes again, get A's.
