Can anyone tell me a little bit about the WSU pre med program? I'm currently a student at USC but am looking to transfer closer to home. And I've heard good things about UW's premed, but haven't heard much about WSU's. If anyone has insight on either, that would be very helpful. Thank you!

I know nothing about WSU other than it is a typical public college based in Washington. Based on that, you should be fine.

Premedical is far more about your individual contributions (grades, MCAT, extracurricular) and your rapport (letter writers, interviewers) than it is anything else.

Any accredited school will be fine for admission to medical school if you do well - there are even people from no-name schools who attend the "best of the best" programs for medical school and (more importantly) residency.

As the first poster said, it's mostly about what you make of it. I'm a senior at WSU and it's a fine program and I wouldn't have traded going here for anything. Plenty of people here get interviews and spots in UW's Medical School class as well.

There's also a fantastic anatomy program and plenty of teaching opportunities for students. I can't really comment on the differences between here and UW, as I haven't attended UW, but I would just say go wherever you'd be happier. Both will provide a fine route for pre-medical education.
