WTF, MD stabs patient with sword

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
"He tried to stab down at her when I yelled at him to stop," Hamilton said. "Then I got him focused on me when I yelled at him, then he said, 'I'll kill you too,' and I said, 'Now we don't want that.'"

It all sounds so civilized!

"You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you."

"You seem a decent fellow! I hate to die."

Also makes one wonder why a psychiatrist would have a sword in his office?????

I've heard alot of them don't even wear ties due to the danger of getting choked with it if a patient decompensates

.....with a sword?!! 😕

Who the heck even keeps a freaking sword in their office these days (besides the doctor in question)?

Let me guess, he's opposed to firearms.

not a article headline you read everyday

http://www.wlwt.com/news/22636852/detail.html

Doug Hamilton... asked the doctor why he stabbed the woman.
Hamilton said Dr. Douglas Rank's answer didn't make any sense.
"He said, 'Four quarts low on the truck'"

What a strange answer... did he lend her his truck and she drove around in it and made him mad or something? Sheesh... and I agree that having a sword in a psychiatrist office is just a bad idea.

no clue what is going on lol?!?!?!

anyway I lol'd, Dr.Rank from A Doll's House

Moral of the story: always fill up when you take the car out for a spin

Maybe he was reading the other thread that was posted yesterday or the day before about psychiatry and decided he needed protection?

Either way, this is so odd. There seem to be a lot of sword-related incidents in the news this past year. Where did everyone get them? I know some people are into the whole replica thing if they see a cool sword in a show, movie or videogame but wow.

I think growing up there was a sword in my house, but it was my grandfather's military sword, and I'm pretty sure it was ceremonial.

Did anyone else think the names in this article were kind of odd? Misty Lake, Spike Jones...?

When your interviewer asks you about what inspired you to become a doctor, I wouldn't allude to this guy.

So much for people looking down on D.O.s. . . 😴

Misty Lake.... sounds like a porn star's name.

My name is Dr. Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

He's probably disgruntled that NPs are taking over the world!!!111one!!!elventy!! 😡😡

My husband does, as do many of his former military buddies who now work in corporate America. But it's neither pointy nor sharp, and would best be used as a heavy, blunt object if he wanted to hurt someone with it.

I want him to learn to open champagne bottle with it as a party trick.
